JEE Exam Paper Pattern ( Mains + Advanced ) | JEE Marking / Negative Marking Scheme : At present, the IIT JEE is a single - stage objective type examination consisting of two papers of three hours duration each to test comprehension & analytical ability of candidates. Both papers, Paper-1 and Paper-2 will each have three separate sections on Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. All questions will be of Objective Type, designed to test aptitude, comprehension and analytical ability of the candidates.:

Joint Entrance Examination, commonly termed as JEE, is a national level engineering exam. The JEE has 2 papers, JEE Main and JEE Advanced. JEE Main is an entry-level exam with a lower level of difficulty. Its score is accepted by NITs, IIITs and other prestigious institutions. Once you clear the JEE Main, you are required to sit for the JEE Advanced, which is compulsory if you want a seat in the IITs.

  • Jee Main Paper 1 is conducted in online mode in subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, for the duration of 3 hours.
  • There are total 75 questions containing 25 questions from each subject. Out of these, 60 will be MCQ type of questions and 15 questions will have numerical value as an answer.
  • For MCQ type of questions, each correct answer will be given +4 marks and for each incorrect answer -1 will be given. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions. In case of non MCQ type of questions, each correct answer will be given +4 marks. No negative marking for incorrect or unattempted questions.
  • Total marks for JEE Main Paper 1 are 300.
  • JEE Advanced is online examination consisting of 2 papers of 3 hours duration, each.
  • Questions are asked in subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. They are both MCQs and Numerical value based questions. Paper pattern as well as number of questions asked is not fixed and changes every year.
